Fragmented travel note from DeWitt Mackenzie

In a World Traveler column fragment DeWitt Mackenzie recalls crossing into Spain with Mrs Mack and describing a meager wartime meal. He notes dried food, a thin soup plate, small potato pieces, beans, an undersized apple, and coffee amidst France’s hospitality and the era’s hardships.
