An elderly woman, Mrs. W. M. Kelly, age 60 and originally from Hempstead county, died Wednesday afternoon at her Detroit Texas home. Funeral services and burial are scheduled Thursday in Texas after the family resided in Washington for several years.
Miss Elizabeth Pilkinton of Hope is on the All A and B Honor Roll at Henderson State Teachers College for the first semester of 1941 42. Dan Pilkinton Miss Neil Louise Broyles and Mrs Mary Neil Turner of Hope and Miss Harriet Ann Harkness of Fulton are on the B Average Honor Roll. Miss Pilkinton and Mrs Turner are seniors and will receive their Bachelor of Arts degrees at the Spring Commencement.
Jefferson is credited with introducing waffles to the United States after tasting waffles in Holland and receiving a waffle iron from Europe as part of his culinary curiosity and early national food curiosity.
