Coming and Going Mrs Yeager to Mexico City for Weekend Visit
Mrs Clarke Yeager of Baltimore and Washington will visit her brother Alex Washburn at 709 South Main street for the weekend. She will travel by car toward Mexico City where she will be joined by her husband Dr Yeager, director of health for the Institute of Inter-American Affairs. The Yeagers plan a vacation at a mountain ranch near the Mexican capital developed by an association of American professional men. Mrs Yeager previously visited Hope in 1947. Accompanying her party are Mrs Howard Cale and Mr and Mrs C B Burns and family.

Ford Expands Six Day Week At Rouge And Other Plants
Ford Motor Co. plans a six day work week for about 15,000 workers at the Rouge plant and extends the shift pattern to 17 factories including Route and Highland Park plants and sites in Chester Pa Long Beach Calif and Chicago. January production hit a record 148 393 vehicles as Ford aims for near 1 000 000 units in the first half of 1980 despite Chrysler strike. Search for missing U S C 54 plane continues in Yukon
The ninth day of the hunt for the fully loaded military transport vanished over the Yukon continues with 26 planes in operation. Rumors of a sighting near a narrow canyon were denied by U S and Canadian air force authorities. The C 54 was en route from Anchorage to Fort Falls Montana with 44 aboard when it disappeared.

Veteran education funding spurs profit schools and abuses, says VA in a 19 Congress report. Examples include a jewelry repair school buying a supplier and selling training materials, and a radio school billing for lessons not given. VA recovered 125000 from the latter. Since 1944 about 7000 new schools emerged, 5700 for profit, approving by states, not VA. About 850000 veterans in under college level programs, with jobs not keeping pace with output.
