Fingerprint ties De La Beckwith to Evers rifle

A fingerprint expert testified that one of Byron De La Beckwiths fingerprints was found on a telescopic sight mounted on the rifle police say was used in the slaying of Medgar Evers. Beckwith 43 of Greenwood is charged with murder in the 1963 shooting as Evers, 37, NAACP field secretary and civil rights advocate, was gunned down outside his Jackson home after midnight on June 12.
