Volunteers Make Candy for Needy Children
Volunteers at Sunline Inc in St. Louis produced about a million candy packages for Viet Nam children. About 175 workers volunteered 12 hours unpaid at the behest of USIA and Maj. Donald W Cameron serving in Thu Duc. The candy, penny-sized fruit tablets, was previously shipped in millions to South Viet Nam and ground with aspirin to ease a child’s worry. Cameron praised the gesture for bringing happiness to children who had rarely received gifts.
