Couple Reunited After 90 Year Separation in Bristow

In Bristow Oklahoma February 2, M Life began for Barkeley Burris who reunited with wife Ella Mershon after 140 venues of separation. Ella, 65, believed him dead since November 1906. They met at her front door and embraced, tears flowing as Burris learned Ella was alive in Bristow. both had assumed the other deceased. Burris and Ella plan remarriage within days, pending details. Frank Owens, Ella’s brother, helped confirm the reunion after recognizing Burris at once.

Reunion delayed by pension check arrival

Burris, a Hale County Texas resident for 81 years, traveled alone to Bristow from Plainview with aid from locals to reunite with his wife if she desires. One of his two children from a previous marriage is deceased.
