Two Michigan troopers shot to death in New Buffalo

Two Michigan State Police troopers were shot to death near New Buffalo on Red Arrow Highway while questioning a driver and passenger. The driver and his female companion fled. troopers pursuing the vehicle exchanged gunfire, fatally wounding the assailant. The dead troopers were Charles Stark, 32, and Gary Rampy, 27. The male suspect was killed. the female companion was taken into custody.

Shar on Hibbard of Searcy was named Arkansas Junior Miss here Thursday night. She will receive a $500 scholarship and an expense paid trip to Mobile Alabama to compete in the national Junior Miss Pageant plus a wardrobe and other prizes. AP&L Endorses Arkla Pipeline Project

Arkansas Power & Light says it supported Arkla’s pipeline plan to the Deep Anadarko Basin, denying opposition claims.
