CUMMINS PRISON FARM Ark AP The State Penitentiary Board voted unanimously to name Thomas Murton acting superintendent of the state prison system. Murton will replace O E Bishop, resigning Dec 31 after two years in the post. Permanent replacement to be decided Jan 4 at Little Rock. Board member Woolsley of El Dorado warned he may resign if the matter isn t resolved. Another member John Haley of Little Rock said Murton would remain acting superintendent until a permanent replacement is found.
