Three Killed on Highways During Christmas Weekend
The Christmas holiday period claimed three lives in Arkansas. Norman Deavenport Jr. and David T. Brewer, both 18 or 19 and from Trumann, died in a one car crash near Marked Tree on Interstate 40 when Deavenport lost control and struck a bridge abutment. Brewer died in a Memphis hospital. Freddie Kirksey, 19, also of Trumann, was injured. Richard D. Green, 23, of Little Rock, died near Arkadelphia on Interstate 30 after his car overturned while passing another vehicle.
