Capital Comes to U S A for UNO capital in eastern states

The piece argues the United Nations will place its capital in the eastern United States, framing the move as a pull toward world cooperation and a stabilizing reminder of global tasks, while noting isolationist sentiment in America and the political fragility of UNO decisions. It contrasts that with Dr. Hubertus van Mook's dismissal of UNO mediation and explains veto power by permanent Security Council members.

Meanwhile, both sides traded accusations of fighting in North China as Paoting suspect gas use surfaced and Chu Teh claimed troop withdrawals as a peace gesture.

Arkansas Public Service Commission Chairman C C Wine notes in the Tax Division report that foreign corporations in Arkansas declined in 1945 due to dissolution into partnerships and wartime material shortages. He says the trend may reverse as more than 100 firms have entered or reentered Arkansas since September, nearly double 1944. Four highway projects await federal approval. PRA says they were not rejected and will be reviewed by the Fort Worth division as officials in Washington withhold specific names.
