Bulldozer Causes Death of Two Boys in Wichita Falls
Two five year old boys, Billy Hogers and Donnie Talton, died after being buried by dirt from a bulldozer used on a leveling job by Billy’s father’s construction company. A search by hundreds along the Wichita River recovered the boys after about five hours. A dog companion helped guide responders to the scene. The bodies were found within feet of each other near Billy’s home.

Christmas tree meeting of Sweet Home club at church
The Sweet Home Home Demonstration Club met Friday afternoon December 16 at the church for its annual Christmas tree. Mrs. Irene Stone presided, and after songs and a devotional by Mrs. W E Lee the Lords Prayer was recited. Members sold tickets for a surprise package and donated $25 to the American Legion Hut fund in Blevins. The group planned a meeting January at the church and exchanged holiday tokens.

Daily Bread Tragedy Ends with Inquest in River
A search by volunteers, police, firemen, and airmen from Sheppard Field failed to find two boys. Neck-deep in the river gully, the dogs led to the discovery of Donnie and Billy. Dr James Lee ruled death by suffocation hours earlier. Justice of the peace H W Newman presided over the inquest.
