Federal officials pursue Walton County lynching case

In Walton County Georgia a federal grand jury heard witnesses and examined voluminous documents but did not indict. The FBI will continue the investigation into the brutal summer killings of four African Americans linked to civil liberties violations. No state or federal officer was found to be involved according to the jury.

Christmas worship at First Presbyterian and Garrett Memorial

The First Presbyterian church led by Thomas Brewster offers Sunday School at 9 45 a.m. with a Christmas program and offerings for Retired Ministers Fund. Morning service at 10 55 a.m. includes a sermon and plate offering for ministerial relief. Garrett Memorial under Silvey hosts Sunday School at 10 a.m. and preaching at 11 a.m. followed by evening services and auxiliary meetings.
