Neapolitan Nativity at Metropolitan Museum Christmas display
Since 1964 the Metropolitan Museum in New York showcases a blue spruce tree adorned with 140 Neapolitan crib figures donated by Mrs. Howell J. Howard. The 18th century terracotta heads, twine bodies, and jeweled costumes form a vibrant procession of the Holy Family, Magi, angels, shepherds, animals, and inn crowds collected from Naples workshops.
