Barbara Huttons Dramatic World Marriage and Wealth
Barbara Hutton pursued a global social life following her early relationships with Prince Milivani and later marriage in Paris on June 15, 1935. The record details lavish trousseau expenses, a Venetian summer palace, a Paris Ritz party, and a high-society circle of princes and barons, followed by a Reno divorce and a second marriage to Count Kurt von Haugwitz-Reventlow. It notes her wealth, changing finances after divorce, and eventual need to sell properties while the Milivani fortune and a multi‑million estate shaped her life.

Wedding Rings Are Given Up for War in Rome
Millions of Italian women donated wedding rings to the Pasellist regime in a wartime act. Queen Helena and Mussolini's wife Donna Rachele led the ceremony casting bands into urns as steel replacements were issued. Estimates say about 8 million women and 2 million men joined the offering, totaling about 1 billion lire or $800 million in value. The queen spoke of the rings as symbols of renunciation for the country.
