Luther B Tooley pioneer of KXAR management suffered a stroke last Sunday at his Dallas home. His wife Florence and he were guests of Duffie Day Booth andPod Rogers. Mrs Tooley reported Wednesday night that he remained unconscious at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

Luther B. Tooley died at 4 15 a.m. Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas after a stroke at his Dallas home. He was 60 and a Vernon, Texas native. He led KXAR in Hope from 1948 and moved to Dallas in 1960. Survived by wife Florence. daughter Nancy Young of Greenville. son Dr William R Tooley of McKinney. four grandchildren. a brother and two sisters. Funeral 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church Richardson. burial Restland Memorial Park Dallas.

Explosion injures man at Hopewell Loop home
Hope police report a Wednesday 3 30 incident at 42 Hopewell Loop where Jimmy Brown sustained serious injuries to his right hand. Fireworks were found in the residence and Brown was transported to Hempstead County Memorial Hospital.

Ronald Wayne Burns of Hope was injured when his eastbound truck collided with a northbound Cotton Belt freight engine at a crossing southwest of Stuttgart Arkansas. He suffered a hand injury and was treated at a hospital and released. The train halted with its caboose clear of the intersection.
