State Dispensary Seen as Solution to Arkansas Liquor Issue
Texarkana Gazette comments on the Arkansas dry counties and a liquor control debate. The piece argues that beer should be legally sold under a state dispensary plan, cites nationwide examples, and urges Arkansas to adopt a state monopoly to fund schools and welfare while reducing out-of-control outlets. It criticizes prohibition and private stores as ineffective and notes support from a broad citizen base. It concludes by urging Governor-led move toward a state-owned system.
