Arkansas farmers ready for Capitol demonstration
Tractors from Hempstead, northeast, southeast and southwest Arkansas prepared to caravan to Little Rock for a Capitol rally on Saturday in support of a Dec. 14 nationwide farm strike demanding 100 percent parity. Coordinators pledged a three to four hour gathering before tractors move to the state fairgrounds for the night.

More than 200 Hope High School seniors plus about 100 students from Blevins Saratoga Spring Hill and Lincoln attended Senior Career Day at Hope First Baptist Church. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. they explored 20 or so career options through lectures seminars and meetings learning about careers fame and how to attain positions in chosen fields. A banquet followed Thursday night at Hope High School.

Services today for Mr. Moses
Funeral services for Perry Moses, 71, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Stiltner officiating. Burial followed at Memory Garden. A retired furniture store manager, he died Wednesday at his home on Spring Hill Road. He served as a deacon for over 50 years and was a Sunday school teacher. He helped found the Hope Kiwanis Club. Survivors include his wife Marietta Moses of Hope, three daughters Jan Lawson of El Dorado Judith Moses of Beaumont Tex and Sue Freeman of Benton Ark, three sisters Doris Adcock of Heightsville Md Ardelle Cook of Little Rock and Margery Boswell of Florida, and six grandchildren.

Fire destroys car and damages home in local incidents
Fire Chief Don Webb reports a car owned by James Williamson on Berry Street burned to total loss shortly after midnight Thursday. At 6:30 a.m. Friday a house owned by Mrs. Lillie B. Storm Fatal to Stuttgart Woman Injures Child
