Workers May Decide Against AFL Union
In Rogers on December 8 a close election at Keeshin Poultry Co. produced a 43 to 42 vote in favor of representation by the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butchers Walkers of North America. The company argued a former employee, discharged Oct. 3 for smoking, voted and was not eligible. Union says the discharge was for activity. A National Labor Relations Board official held a hearing and will announce if the ballot is retested.
