More than fifty cases were heard by Judge W. K. Lemley in Hope municipal court. The docket lists numerous speeding, parking, and equipment violations with bonds mostly set at one dollar, several ten dollar fines for gaming and drunkenness, and multiple individuals charged with headlight and toll light infractions. Numerous names appear for various offenses including disturbing the peace and blocking an alley.

Rev Spore Chosen Leader Of Hope Ministerial Alliance

The Hope Ministerial Alliance elected Rev Kenneth L. Spore as president for the coming year at First Baptist church. Rev Harry Wintermeyer was named vice president and Rev William R. Hamilton as secretary. A later meeting with Pastors and Benevolent Committee chairs and welfare officials is set for December 18 at City Hall to plan Christmas basket distribution.

Policeman Turner Returns From Florida Trip

John Turner city policeman arrived home after a vacation in Miami with Mrs Turner and son Jack. Jack is a member of the Border Patrol of the U S Immigration Service and was transferred from the Texas Mexican border to Florida east coast. Mrs Turner remains with Jack for an extended visit.

Ex-County Man Is Arrested In McCas kill

Forrest Sudduth, 34, former Hempstead county man, was arrested Monday by local police in McCaskill on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery. He is wanted by Robert B. Powers of Vic Bakersfield California for alleged assault and the killing of a policeman last year. A True Detective magazine photo and a 106 reward are noted. Local police contacted Bakersfield authorities as officers and local officials arrested Sudduth after returning to McCaskill with a carnival. His parents and relatives had waited over a year, with a prior search missing him by about 30 minutes.

Bank loaned five dollars with ten thousand in bonds

A stranger sought a five dollar loan telling a bank lending small sums was its business. After some dialogue the banker approved and the man offered ten thousand dollars in government bonds as security. He joked about safe deposit costs at another bank while noting the bonds.
