Elk Outing in Star Valley Signals Spring Community Festivities
In Star Valley Wyoming elk are moved each spring from wintering grounds to Meher and Satt rivers valley. Initiated by Newel Gardner 12 years ago the drive marks the season’s opening social event with riders and horses traveling to Grays Valley where elk feed. Elk cooperate by moving to high ground as burgers and trail snacks are served and neighbors celebrate a productive act of wildlife management.
