New York December 6 The Associated Press survey shows coaches across the nation increasingly relied on forward passing after a rule change allowing passes behind the line. An overall 15 percent rise in passing paced shifts from the T formation to single Wing and double Wing, with regional trends in the Southwest and Pacific Coast shaping offense as teams matched play to their personnel and strengths.
