Six Children Die In Fire At Oshkosh Home
In Oshkosh Wisconsin a late night fire destroyed the Carpenter home killing six children ages four three four months and a toddler. Cris Carpenter said an oil heater ignited the kitchen and prevented entry to the bedroom where the youngsters slept while Mrs Carpenter was away at a night job. The victims were Roseley Charlotte Russell Barbina and Sandra with burns and suffocation blamed. Carpenter was treated for burns and Mrs Carpenter hospitalized in shock. The wooden house had a single outside door opening to a fenced patio.
