Mountain View School Burns in Arkansas Blaze
A fire at Pleasant Grove High School in Mountain View Arkansas destroyed the office area including a typing class and damaged six classrooms and a gymnasium. No injuries were reported and damage estimates were not available. A lunchroom and three rooms in a separate building remained undamaged.

Seven Die in East Baltimore House Fire Tragedy
Seven siblings perished in a Baltimore house fire that destroyed their East Baltimore home. Police arrested the husband Kenneth A. Smith, 38, on arson charges after the blaze. A 15 year old survivor said he was pushed back inside as he tried to escape. Mrs Smith and four children survived. The deputy fire chief named the victims Janet Gary Kevon Annette Thomas Darlene and Vivian. A neighbor reported hearing breaking glass and seeing a man standing outside watching as the children yelled.
