Grain harvest to exceed prior year amid protests over slow delivery
Moscow reports grain output this year surpassing previous levels while protests mount over sluggish state distribution. First quarter deliveries from July to September reached only eight percent of planned, with Ukraine and northern Caucasus lagging notably. Despite critiques, total deliveries exceed last year as collectives bear much of the burden under government pressure. The Trade Commission via the Khleb Center offers prizes to top collecting collectives. Meanwhile Mississippi 4-H youths post warnings on forest fires across the state.
