Traffic Is Blamed for Four Deaths
A 41 year old Gillette man, Ray O Fuchs, was killed in a pickup truck car collision on Arkansas about six miles south of Gillett. Earl R Kirtley, 26, of De Witt, drove the other car and was uninjured. The death marked the fourth traffic fatality in the period from Friday evening to Sunday. Other fatalities included Karl L Schlieff, 58, from Fort Smith, in a U S 71 crash near Ashdown. John Godfry, 22, of Junction City, died after his motorcycle struck a freight train near El Dorado. Mrs Katherine Fortas, 62, of Little Rock, was killed when a dump truck crashed into her house. She was a Negro.
