Kennedy Seen As Help For Democratic Party Campaigns
Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey said Senator Robert F. Kennedy would be a great help to the Democratic party in 1966 campaigns while predicting President Johnson will seek and win the 1968 nomination. Richard Nixon attributed Kennedy’s poll strength to money and organization, and warned Johnson could drop Humphrey for Kennedy on a 1968 ticket. Humphrey’s busy schedule includes about 80 appearances in over 35 states, with focus on the agricultural Midwest. In London, Britons reportedly prefer other foods as fish and chips fell to eighth in a survey of 70,000 factory canteen users.
