Nine cent cotton for immediate delivery rose in New Orleans and New York as October futures jumped 58 points to 9.18, about 20.25 per bale above June low. The gain could bring roughly 320000 more to Hempstead county growers based on an estimated 16000 bales, with Saturday the peak gin receipts of the season.
