Federal Reserve Rules On State Banks Membership
The Federal Reserve Board ruled that a state bank with capital under 500000 in a state overpopulated beyond a million cannot join the Fed while operating outside its home city. A bank formed before last June 16 in small towns with population under 3000 and capital at least 25000 may join, provided capital meets thresholds by admission. If capital was below 25000 as of June 16, it may join only after increasing capital to that level.
