Three people died and another was seriously injured in a two car crash on U.S. Highway 67 near Minturn seven miles south of Hoxie. The dead were Don Sawyer of Lynn Arkansas former Lawrence County deputy sheriff Mrs J M Willoughby 32 and her mother in law Mrs Mellisa W Willoughby Cook 72 both of Botkinburg. J M Willoughby 24 was in serious condition at a Jonesboro hospital. Sawyer and the Willoughbys car collided in Minturn center and both vehicles were demolished.
