Moses Denies Big Land Deals In Garnishment Suit
Lite Rock Aug 2 A garnishment proceeding filed by the Reconstruction Finance Corp names Moses Denies and Roy Sturgis as in possession of land and land equities tied to Oreste Wilding and the Concrete Products Co. of Fort Smith. The RFC seeks to satisfy a judgment of 40,704.10 against Concrete Products officials. Details describe roughly 100,000 acres bought in 20 Arkansas counties, mostly tax delinquent, with Wilkins owning the land and Sturgis shown as owner in records. Moses contends no association with Sturgis in land purchases and states Wilkins acts independently in the matter. The case stems from a $100,000 loan default. RFC acquired the loan, won a chancery judgment, and pursued the federal action after land sales.
