In New Orleans AP reports Judge Oliver Schulingkamp gave Richard Halvorsen 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to five counts of indecent behavior and aggravated crime against nature. The judge cited Halvorsen remorse as reason for a lighter penalty in a Boy Scout sex case probe that uncovered pictures of naked boys and a nationwide ring. the scout troop linked to the ring has been disbanded.

Fort Mitchell artist Bill Gaither created a life like Grand Prairie scene for the Arkansas County Agricultural Museum. The 1832 by 10 foot mural features native birds reptiles and mammals in four Arkansas seasons. Donations and NEA grants funded the project with 1500 plus hours of work mainly at night. The exhibit will evolve as new mounts are added and the museum in Stuttgart operates daily with specific hours.
