City police reported two accidents at 12 30 p m Wednesday. A three car crash at 6th and Fulton involved Donald David Clearly of Rosston who struck a sign and was hit by Esther White of Hope, with Clearly then hitting H G Baker of Hope. All three vehicles suffered considerable damage and Clearly was charged with failure to yield right of way. A second accident involved Norman P D Evans of North Little Rock whose pickup hit a Dairy Queen corner on Fast 3rd with only minor gutter damage. no charges were filed.
Arkia Louisiana Gas Co. said it filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed public offering of 40 million dollars in first mortgage bonds. Proceeds will retire notes payable to banks and other short term obligations tied to construction of plant facilities.
Senator John McClellan announced a federal grant of 50000 dollars to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge to fund a 12 bed addition and expansion of administrative and dietary services.
