Miss Trimble, former Lindenwood College student and ALB graduate from Louisiana State University, now teaches at Columbia University after completing teacher training there. Mr Murphree, a University of Texas alumnus and Phi Beta Kappa member, has taught at Columbia University for three years while pursuing degree requirements. he served as a naval lieutenant in World War II.

Government contracts via local chambers of commerce system

The Department of Commerce runs a nationwide network of about 2 100 outlets through chambers of commerce boards of trade and other groups to inform businessmen about government bidding. A Chicago office aggregates daily contract notices from a teletype network and distributes 300 summaries to outlets so local firms can bid. The system broadens bidder access and speeds government procurement awareness.
