Weather charts pioneer Tuizah Spiggle wins Jefferson Award
Tirzah Spiggle, now Tirgah Spiggle, began recording daily temperature and rainfall in a Virginia town for the Weather Bureau during Woodrow Wilson’s first term. She and four others receive the 1968 Jefferson Award for long time meteorological observations.
