Muskegon authorities planned to question Boy Scout camp employees in the search for the killer of 12 year old Peter Gorham. State police noted Illinois authorities reported one camp employee as a question mark.
About a dozen inmates armed with home made knives seized fourteen hostages at Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla. After six hours and with tear gas, guards retook the prison and no one was hurt. The revolt followed an earlier six week outbreak and involved new demands including transfers.
An early evening head on collision near Texarkana killed four people including Mr and Mrs Howard Mincey and their 14 month old daughter Kandis from Lawton Oklahoma and John L Wilson 55 of Doddridge Miller County. Three others were seriously injured.
Senator John McClellan predicts a bright future for the Arkansas River Valley development program and potentially for the Army Navy Hospital at Hot Springs. He spoke on Weekend Press Conference on KATV and said ongoing appropriations could continue toward completion. A Negro man, Harrison Robinson, walked into the City Police station here Saturday night and admitted he was wanted in Malvern for murder. Malvern police were contacted and he was wanted but not for murder. The woman he said he shot hadn’t been killed. Robinson was turned over to Malvern authorities.

Mrs. Gus Hearon, aged 78, died August 13 in Dallas Texas. She was a former resident of Hempstead. Funeral services were held at Rose Hill Cemetery Sunday at 2 p.m. by Rev. Virgil Keeley. Herndon-Cornelius had charge of arrangements.
