AFL Office Is Dynamited

A small frame building serving as the AFL headquarters near Norfolk dam in Mountain Home Iowa suffered slight damage from a dynamite blast. One of two sticks exploded under the steps, breaking windows and causing minor damage. Use of Cotton in Industry Promises Housing Boost

George W. Robison, Hempstead County Cotton Industry Committee chair, says U S Cotton is ready to power a building trades expansion. An August 12 1941 letter from Oren Harris to N P O Neal notes discussion with Colonel Casey on the Southwestern Proving Ground architecture. Army Faces Vehicle Shortage In Large Maneuvers

Major Robert C. Richardson warned Friday that 70,000 seventh Army troops lack motor transport for maneuvers. Troops travel by serials, moving many per load and returning for more.
