Avery Reunion Honors Pioneer Minister Alexander Avery
The Community Center in Pres satt City Park hosted a gathering of more than 120 relatives and friends of Rev Alexander Avery, a pioneer Methodist minister who settled near Midway Church about 120 years ago. Attendees from Oklahoma and Texas joined relatives from Arkansas counties Hempstead Ouachita and Nevada. The event included basket lunches and neighborly chats as part of the annual Avery Clan reunion. Relatives recall his land donation for Midway church and cemetery and his outreach to many churches. A second note mentions a miscellaneous bridal shower for Mrs Mary Alice Hugg of Ble?ving.
