Lunar Orbiter Set To Orbit Moon For Pictures
NASA plans a Tuesday launch of the Lunar Orbiter aboard an Atlas Agena rocket to photograph nine potential landing areas on the Moon, including the Ocean of Storms where Surveyor 1 landed. After a 90 hour flight the craft will enter lunar orbit and begin a three week imaging phase, following earlier failures by the United States and a Soviet Luna 10 mission.
