At the Town and Country luncheon on Friday August 4 Ranger Jim Martin of the state Department of Education discussed how pollution threatens human survival. He cited air water noise solid waste and overpopulation and noted 560 pounds of waste paper per person annually and six pounds daily of solid waste. He urged smarter use of resources and greater agricultural efficiency on less land. President Bob Roberts welcomed members and guests G D Royston Jr and George Smith.
