Captain Bob Peterson and I planned a Narrows fishing trip but the lantern jammed and minnows were unavailable. We failed to fish at Swaha Lodge dock Self Creek Boat Center and Daisy dock, arriving before dawn with no bites. Lesson: stock lanterns and minnows the night before for Narrows outings.

Walnut Ridge Arkansas AP Junior Powers 31 of Watersville Michigan formerly of Tru Mann was arrested Monday after the Citizens Bank of Smithville holdup. He was found in an outdoor privy on a farm. About 6800 dollars were recovered. The suspect posed as a Federal Deposit Insurance Corp inspector and displayed a .36 caliber pistol to two bank employees Louise Rawsey and Boyce Durham. Rawsey noted the stranger’s unfamiliarity and Durham glimpsed the man from the rear before he entered the bank.
