Texas Child Suffocates at De Queen

A 5 month old child died on arrival at a De Queen hospital from apparent suffocation. Donna Lynn Coffman, daughter of Alice Coffman of Itasca Texas, was among five sleeping in a parked car near the fair grounds when the accident happened. The grandmother found the baby dead upon waking. The group was en route to Gentry Arkansas to visit relatives. Wakulla Springs is a wildlife preserve south of Tallahassee Florida.

Unity Baptist Choir Performs gospel Concert for Kiwanis

The Unity Music Makers from Unity Baptist Church presented a Gospel Music concert at a Kiwanis Club meeting. Gordon Renshaw arranged and introduced the program with Quetta Ellis, Linda Brown, Ruth Hicks, Shirley Cooper, Bob Hand, and Pastor Renshaw as performers. Edward Cooper accompanied on piano and Mike Huckabee aided on bass guitar.
