Weimar Slaves Share Bread as Allied Relief Flows In
Former slave laborers in Weimar receive bread supplied by the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration as postwar aid continues. The Big Three leaders, Truman Attlee and Stalin, reaffirm support for a provisional Warsaw government and call for free elections. They outline a tentative Polish-German border with large territorial shifts, noting Koenigsberg to Russia and compensation for Poland. War crimes trials are pledged with a first list due before September.

OPA Eyes Clothing Price Rollback to 1943 Levels
The M-338 series and a maximum average price program were drawn up months ago to restore clothing prices to 1943 levels. OPA said the joint program would yield a six to seven percent rollback in garment prices. Jerome Ney, director of OPA's consumer goods division, could not foresee effects of WPB regulation revocation on price cuts but stated OPA would press on with rollback efforts.
