Government would unite credit agencies for pump priming plan
Bruce Catton outlines a proposed consolidation of U S lending agencies to create a massive credit‑creating wall of finance. The plan groups RFC HOLC FHA and others into a single body with up to about 10 billion in unused lending capacity, enabling a large loan program without expanding the annual debt limit. The proposal, still unsettled, envisions a postwar economic recovery through credit rather than direct spending.
