Farmers Can Release All Unused Acres in 1950 Cotton Program
Hempstead county cotton farmers may release any portion of their 1050 acre cotton allotments not planted to cotton in 1950 under new federal legislation. PMA chairman Mr. Martindale says releases in 1950 do not affect future farm allotments beyond their impact on the 3 year lease period, with unused acreage offsetting increases in 1950 allotments and credited to state and county totals. Official forms are available for growers to authorize release of all or part of their allotment.
