The Family Doctor discusses tuberculosis across races and classes, noting declines due to better germ knowledge, nutrition, and hygiene. It stresses overcrowded city living, industrial era changes, and the need for economic as well as medical action to prevent infection and protect children from contact with infected adults.
The club notes extensive home improvements and yard plantings across members. Entries detail kitchens sealed and painted, cabinets built, linoleum rugs installed, curtains and shades added, radios purchased, gardens expanded with hibiscus and japonica, and several trees planted. Mrs. Drake, Mrs. Powell, and Mrs. Rhodes lead notable efforts including 50 shrubs, 23 rose cuttings, and new furniture with costs recorded.
Mrs Floyd Matthews president of Ozan and St Paul Home Demonstration Club organized a community clean up with all members participating. Two houses were winded and one yard leveled and sodded. Three crepe myrtles were set to blaze a trail through Arkansas. Home improvements covered one house repaired at 230 dollars eight floors refinished at 21 dollars one sanitary toilet at 10 dollars one family built three pieces of porch furniture for one dollar seven rooms were repapered.

Mt Pleasant residents report remodeling and yard enhancements this spring. Mrs A Hawkins added two windows and two doors using materials from an old tenant house to brighten a bedroom, plus a built in closet door. The Ben Conley family built a new barn and well shed, added storage, and planted trees and flowers. Mrs Dildy Porterfield renovated an old tenant house improving porches, doors, cabinets, and a door rebuild, with a cement curb for sanitation. Mrs Helen Ray invested in a radio, shades, quilts, and bedding while improving the yard with lattice, flower beds, and rose bushes. Mrs Noah Oldner began a rose garden with sixteen roses and ten other flowers planted.
A snapshot of domestic upgrades across several homes: Mrs. Oldmer quilts sheets and pillow things, curtains added, a new cooking stove, peach tree planting by Mrs. Hayne Hutchinson with seeds sprouting and reset. Garden fences, chairs stained, shades installed, and yard-wide enhancements. Mrs. Porterfield reports extensive updates with new equipment, a wood box, pantry features, floor painting, chairs bought, curtains and rugs made. Shrubs planted and trees set including rose bushes two, bird’s wreaths one, forsythia, apple trees, and peach trees as part of yard improvement. Total cost around nineteen dollars.
Allen Dome Demonstration Club members install electricity in four homes. An electric pump, light fixtures, brooders, and chicken coops boost farm income. Homes are remodeled with new floors, furniture, appliances, and two breeder houses plus three chicken coops built. Landscaping adds roses, flowers, and fruit trees to celebrate the program.
The Rocky Mound Home Demonstration group carried out grounds cleanup at the Baptist church and planted annuals and perennials. They built the J A club house for local youth. Now plans call for a community house for adults with furnishings totaling 449.45 dollars and sealed rooms using home labor.

Centerville residents led a community effort under Mrs. Kenneth Jones to improve homes. The Collier residence was used for demonstrations including six rooms papered and new window shades. Overall community improvements totaled 7604 dollars, with work on a barn yard, fencing, chairs, curtains, rugs, and refurbished interiors.
