Laser photo system to boost AP picture transmission
AP announces a MIT developed Laserphoto system using laser beams to transmit and print high quality dry photos. The plan includes electronic dark rooms, computer storage, video editing, and rapid wire transmission. Installation across the US is slated to begin in 1974, replacing older photo receivers and transmitters.

Easter Gun Rampage Leaves Six Dead
A peaceful Easter Sunday in a Black neighborhood was shattered by a man with a .20 gauge shotgun. Six people were killed and ten injured across eight locations in a 90 minute rampage, including a service station attendant and the gunman, who was wounded in a police shootout and taken into custody. Hempstead County will begin an insecticide share cost program on July 1 1973 to reduce tick populations and combat tick and fly borne diseases.
