Ozan Student Shot to Death at Henderson State College
George E. Watson 20 of Ozan was shot and killed around 9 30 pm Thursday in front of the Day Armory on Henderson State College campus. Prosecutor W J Arnold of Arkadelphia filed first degree murder charges against Rufus Jones 21 of Arkadelphia. Jones not a Henderson student. Watson was. Watson allegedly shot four men in the head with a .22 caliber rifle. Jones arrested near his apartment and to be arraigned Monday in Clark County Circuit Court. He is held without bond.

Man fires at youths on river road near Fulton

In Hempstead Circuit Court three McCaskill area men were found guilty of assaulting Wardens Abe Mormon and Ben Waller after a deer hunting incident along the Little Missouri River bottoms near McCaskill. Tom Hill and George Hill were fined 1000 dollars each, Eli Hill 750. Warden Mormon was shot in the arm during a scuffle. Early Murphy pleaded guilty to burglary and grand larceny and received a two year suspended sentence for entering Hope Fish Market.
