County agent Oliver L. Adams reports parity payments under the 1941 Triple A program. Rates include 1.33 cents per pound cotton, 1 cent per bushel wheat, 9 cents per bushel rice, 6 cents per pound flue cured tobacco, 2 cents per pound fire cured tobacco. Conservation payments also apply, with cotton 387 cents per pound, wheat 5 cents per bushel, rice 24.74 cents per bushel, barley tobacco 8 cents per pound. Farmers may receive both parity and conservation payments by following approved soil-building practices and farm plans.

Drive Launched to Boost Tomato Egg and Poultry Output

A nationwide drive launches to boost production of tomatoes, eggs, and poultry under the Lend-Lease era needs.
