Jonesboro April 19 Peyton 54 was cleared by the Craighead county grand jury of a first degree murder charge in the June 7 killing of Walter Ashley 38 at Peyton’s home ending a case tied to an alleged love triangle. A search by rescue ships followed a radio report of two objects sighted by airplane but the yellow object proved to be a pinewood canoe and the white a dead fish.
The grand jury this week reported no true bill in the case involving Peyton's young wife, and the charge against Peyton was dismissed. The ruling ends the prosecution in this matter.
