At National Stockyards Illinois, live cattle and hog prices showed mixed movement. Feeder cattle and calves remained active with generally higher quotes, while hogs varied with lighter weights offering more strength and heavier sows down. Sheep listings were limited with small consignments and modest demand.
Chicago market shows steady live poultry with 317 coops received and prices unchanged for heavy lions 21 to 23, light hens 16 to 17, fryers or broilers 22 to 27, old roosters 11 to 18, ducklings 26 to 27. In Batesville area markets, offerings of heavier weights are barely steady with tighter weights adequate, demand fair to good, trading moderate, farm prices for all weights 22 to 23, mostly 22.
